Course Description
This course prepares students for the Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL). Instruction includes practical hands-on behind-the-wheel operation of single commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more preparing students to safely operate single commercial vehicles on the road. Emphasis is placed on defensive driving, Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations, trip planning, cargo handling, vehicle systems, hours of service, vehicle inspection, and accident prevention.
